There are many rumors out there regarding his spawn patterns, but all my observations have supported the 18 hour +/- 1 hour rule. He has been known to skip up to 3 times. Note that when he skips a respawn, the new 18 hour +/- 1 window starts from a completely random time within the original window. This effectively extends his new window by 1 hour in either direction, so that the pattern becomes 1st window: 18 +/- 1, 2nd window: 36 +/- 2, 3rd window: 54 +/- 3. It's also worth being aware that while the probability of him spawning is completely uniform within the 2 hour window of the first spawn, once he skips, he is more likely to spawn in the middle of the window than towards the ends. This is similar to rolling dice: 1 6-sided die has an equal chance to produce any number between 1 and 6; 2 6-sided dice are more likely to produce a result around 7, while 2 and 12 are relatively rare, and so on.''
